Pleasantville High School and the city’s middle school were briefly locked down on Thursday. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the school received a “vague threat” and the lockdown was a precaution. The schools reopened about an hour later.

Some major upgrades are coming to the pond at the Cape May County Park and Zoo. County officials say the pond was dredged earlier this year and the water quality is greatly improved; new grasses and other plant life are also being planted to make the pond more aesthetically pleasing.
An alligator has decided to walk through some neighborhoods in Mullica Township, South Jersey. Police are looking for the gator who was seen strolling through some yards with no particular agenda. No one knows where the gator came from.
Avalon Police have arrested a 38 year old Media, PA man who was wanted for stalking and other crimes. Police announced they have arrested Douglass P. Scott who was a wanted fugitive. Scott was arrested last weekend and had some drugs in his possession.
If the congressional election were held today, democrat Jeff Van Drew would be packing his bags to Washington. A new Stockton University poll gives Van Drew a 23 point lead over republican Seth Grossman. The same poll also gives republican Bob Hugin an edge over Robert Menendez in the Senate race.
