Hard Rock Atlantic City has replaced its president after three months of operation. Matt Harkness is out, and former Borgata executive Joe Lupo has replaced him. No reason was given for the change. The Hard Rock placed fourth in casino revenues in Atlantic City during August.
Closing arguments are scheduled for Tuesday in the April Kauffman murder trial. Ferdinand Augello of Upper Township is accused of killing Kauffman six years ago in her Atlantic County home. Court will reconvene Tuesday at 9:00am.
Governor Phil Murphy has unveiled a new plan that intends to stimulate the economy. Murphy announced Monday that he wants to add 400,000 new jobs to the State’s economy by 2025, and see $625 million in new capital improvement projects. Stone Harbor bridges will undergo mandated State safety testing next week, on Tuesday and Wednesday. The County announced that the testing will occur on both the 96th Street and Ocean Drive bridge next week which will require 15 minute closures of the bridges between the hours of 9am and 1pm.
Lower Township Police announced late Monday morning that Clubhouse Drive at Cox Hall Creek was again open to motor vehicle traffic. Construction work had caused a detour at the intersection, but the work has been completed.
The New Jersey Senate race between incumbent Robert Menendez and republican challenger Bob Hugin is too close to call, according to a new Stockton University poll. The poll shows Menendez with a two point lead over Hugin which is within the poll’s margin of error. Stockton says the race is “up for grabs”.
North Wildwood will hold a special school bond election Tuesday afternoon. Residents are being asked if the school district should finance HVAC and other improvements at the Margaret Mace Elementary School. Polls will be open starting at 4pm at the city’s community center.

Atlantic City Police are searching for a man who committed an overnight burglary of a convenience store last week. Police have released a photo of the suspect who broke into the store when it was closed to steal cigarettes and an undetermined amount of money.
