Attorney General Gurbir Grewal has sued the United States Department of Interior over the State’s unanswered request on why Florida was carved out of an offshore drilling plan, but New Jersey was left in. Local tourism and businesses leaders are sharply opposed to offshore drilling.
Some sports betting revenue in the State of New Jersey will now head directly to the Casino Reinvestment Development Authority. Governor Murphy signed a bill into law that will share the State’s taxes generated from sports betting with CRDA. Sports betting has produced nearly $17 million this year to date.
A 23 year old Pleasantville man lost his life in an all terrain vehicle accident Tuesday afternoon. City police say the crash occurred on New Road shortly after 1pm Tuesday. The deceased was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.

The Avalon Borough Council meets Wednesday afternoon and is expected to award a contract for the construction of a new Surfside Park next to the Community Hall. Allegations of mortgage fraud, hiding evidence, and protecting political friends have been filed by two former and one current employee of the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office against Prosecutor Damon Tyner. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the complaint was filed in court last Thursday. Tyner told the newspaper that the matters involve disgruntled employees.
