Ocean City’s 34th Street Bridge is scheduled to be closed for two hours during the overnight hours, Friday morning. The bridge will be shut down between the hours of 3-5pm to allow work crews to complete steel repairs on the south side of the bridge. The regular traffic pattern will return for the morning commute.

Cumberland County got a lot more snow than Cape May County, and that means several larger schools are closed for the day on Thursday. School districts including those in Bridgeton, Millville, Vineland, and Upper Deerfield are all closed on Thursday due to several inches of snow from Wednesday’s storm.
Cape May’s city council met this week and approved some initial funding for the construction of a new public safety building for the community. Cape May will spend $300,000 for the building; the city will put out a request for proposal for design ideas for what is needed.
The longtime mayor of Brigantine will not seek re-election this year. Phillip Guenther has served as the mayor of the community for the past 25 years. Guenther will keep his job as the superintendent of the Atlantic County Special Services and Vocational School districts.
