The alleged ringleader of a drug operation in Atlantic City has been indicted on 29 charges. 41 year old George Stokes was indicted last week on charges of being the leader of a narcotics trafficking network. He has also been charged with the drug-induced deaths of three individuals.
Lower Township Police arrested a local man on heroin possession charges following a motor vehicle stop in the Villas. Police say Joseph DeJames Jr. of North Cape May was found to be in possession of heroin; DeJames was also wanted on outstanding warrants from Wildwood and West Wildwood.

Vineland Police have arrested three men, charging them with a home invasion robbery that occurred Sunday afternoon. Police charged 24 year old Brandon Toole, 24 year old Dominique Evans, and 27 year old Eric Bundy-Johnson with the crime. They used an assault-style firearm in the robbery.
New Jersey Transit announced that it has suspended ticket sales for the Atlantic City Rail Line due to the high volume of tickets purchased for Thursday’s Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia. All customers will need pre-purchased tickets in order to get on the rail line Thursday.

Some schools in southern New Jersey will be closing Thursday so students can attend the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl parade in Philadelphia. Districts including Collingswood, Oaklyn, Waterford Township, Paul VI and Bishop Eustace have closed; so far, no word yet of any Cape May County districts closing for the parade.
A battle is brewing in Trenton between Governor Phil Murphy and gun activists. A gun lobby group has filed a lawsuit this week attempting to negate the state’s handgun permitting rules which restrict who gets a license to carry. Gun activists say the restrictions are unconstitutional.
