A small amount of oil was pumped into the ocean through an outfall pipe, coming from a leaking basement tank from a city inn. The Cape May Star and Wave reports that the tank was in the basement of the Harrison Inn on Columbia Avenue. The NJDEP responded as well as a marine services organization.
Former Middle Township Public School Superintendent Theodore Johnson has passed away. Johnsnon served as the district’s superintendent for 12 years, ending in 1989. The announcement was made on social media.
A suspect in a hit and run stabbed an Atlantic City cop before he was shot and killed by the officer. Police in the city say 32 year old Timothy Deal approached the officer, stabbed him, and then was shot dead. The officer was treated and released for the stabbing.

Two Vineland men have been arrested and charged with stabbing another man on Cherry Street on Wednesday. Police say they arrested 21 year old Francis M. Dilone-Venutra and 22 year old Felipe Bautista, both of Vineland. The victim was flown to Cooper Hospital in Camden, and helped police identify his attackers.
