Friday was not a good day for the Cape May Lewes Ferry system. The MV New Jersey experienced engine trouble on the bay and passengers were briefly stranded on the vessel. There was a two hour delay getting back to port. A Northstar Marine tugboat assisted the ferry boat back to port.

Several communities are seeking volunteers for various beach sweeps they are having in conjunction with Clean Ocean Action, on Saturday April 13th. Communities including Avalon, Wildwood Crest, and Sea Isle City are holding the events to make a portion of their beaches cleaner in advance of the summer tourism season.
