Lower Township Police will be cracking down on drivers who text while behind the wheel, starting April 1st. The new crackdown is called “UDrive, UText, UPay”. Driving while texting resulted in over 800,000 motor vehicle accidents over a four year period in the United States.
The Delaware Memorial Bridge will be closed for a half hour to traffic on Tuesday night. DRBA officials announced that the ship “Zhen Hua” will be passing under the bridge with large cranes at approximately 11:45pm Tuesday, which will necessitate a half hour closure of the bridge. A car crashed into the front of the Early Years day care center in Egg Harbor Township Saturday evening at the English Creek Shopping Center. The day care center was closed at the time of the accident. No word yet on what caused the crash.

Legislation that would legalize marijuana sales could come Monday in Trenton, and that has put some towns in a bad spot. Towns who have already banned the sale of recreational marijuana would have to do so again in the event the legalization bill is approved by lawmakers Monday.
32 year old William Eisenhardt of Commercial Township has pleaded guilty to the murder of a 20 year old man from Buena back in 2015. Eisenhardt was in court Friday and now faces up to 35 years in prison for the crime. The murder was over a package of drugs.

Governor Phil Murphy may have to severely cut the state budget unless gross income tax collections soar through the end of June. NJ.com reports that Moody’s Investors Service predicts a huge 17 percent jump in tax collections through the end of June, or the budget will be significantly compromised.
