Wildwood High School basketball star Maddie McCracken has received a very prestigious honor by being selected to the McDonalds All-Americn selection nominee. 53 year old Herbert Tozer is getting a 28 year prison sentence for fatally stabbing another man during an argument at a Middle Township motel two years ago. The killing took place at the Country Motel in Rio Grande. The victim of the stabbing died a month after the attack.

A mobile home fire in Vineland Wednesday night resulted in no injuries. Officials say the fire broke out at the home located just off North East Boulevard. Three occupants have been displaced. The cause of the fire appears to be accidental.
Lower Township Police say a 25 year old man lost his life on January 12th in a motor vehicle accident. Patrick Wood of the Villas lost control of his car on Breakwater Road and struck a tree. Wood later died of his injuries.
In one of the best games of the year, Wildwood Catholic defeated St. Joseph’s in overtime, 78-73 in a game broadcast live on Shore 106.3FM. Taj Thweatt scored 20 points and had 16 rebounds for the Crusaders. Wildwood Catholic got the victory despite showing poorly from the foul line, barely above 50 percent.
Wildwood has secured a $400,000 grant from the Department of Community Affairs to improve access to the city’s police building for people with disabilities. Mayor Ernie Troiano says the funding will finance a ramp and enlarge a lobby to accommodate wheelchairs.
Former assemblyman Sam Fiocchi announced that he intends to seek his party’s nomination for the State Senate seat recently vacated by democrat Jeff Van Drew. Fiocchi claims people in our district have urged him to run for the seat. Republicans will pick a candidate in the spring.
Four people are being sought by State Police for assaulting and robbing a delivery driver in Upper Deerfield Township, Cumberland County, Sunday afternoon. Police say there was a lone gunman, and have released a composite sketch of the suspect. The bandits got cash, a wallet, and two cellphones.
