Congress last night authorized a bill that will finance the Coastal Heritage Trail in New Jersey. The measure was supported and introduced by outgoing Congressman Frank LoBiondo, who is retiring after his current term expires. The trail has been established in New Jersey since 1988.
Woodbine will be using a grant to trim some trees at its municipal airport. Officials announced that a contract has been awarded that will result in the trimming of trees that go above the canopy at certain heights, for airport safety. The funding comes from an airport safety grant.

A 36 year old woman was killed Wednesday night during a head on crash in Absecon. Police say Suzana Kocick of Galloway was pronounced dead at the scene on Pitney Road. Two wrestling coaches at Schalick High School in Salem County have been suspended due to hazing allegations in the program. The school board met Thursday night and suspended the wrestling coaches pending a further investigation. Further personnel action against the coaches is not being ruled out.

One person is dead, a second person injured during a motor vehicle accident in Hamilton Township early Thursday morning. Police say a 25 year old man from Bridgeton was killed in the accident which occurred along Millville Avenue. Police are asking the public for information regarding the fatal accident.

A lawsuit has been filed by New Jersey and eight other states over President Trump’s plan to drill for oil off our coastline. New Jersey officials held a news conference Thursday to announce that a multi-state lawsuit has been filed. Delaware and Maryland are joining in the lawsuit.
