Both the Hard Rock and Ocean Resort casinos could soon see their employees represented by Local 54. The Press of Atlantic City reports that both casinos are moving towards the union, and the Hard Rock may be the first to join. Both casinos had been shuttered by the economy, but have since reopened.
Winds should begin to die down late this afternoon as the big storm system continues to leave our region. A Wind Advisory remains in effect until 6pm Monday with gusts approaching 50mph in some communities, including Avalon. Wind chills have been below 0 degrees for most of the day.
A mobile home was completely destroyed by fire Sunday night in Egg Harbor Township. Fire officials say the blaze took place at a unit at the Normsdale Mobile Home Park on Ocean Heights Avenue. There were no injuries.
Governor Phil Murphy has named two more individuals to the Pinelands Commission. Murphy announced that Kelly Mood and Teresa Lettman are his nominees that must be confirmed by the State Seante. Lettman would replace a 93-year old member of the Commission.
One person is dead after being struck by two motor vehicles in Vineland Friday night. City police say the accident occurred at the intersection of South Delsea Drive and Chimes Terrace; the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police continue to investigate.

A 30 year old teacher at Pleasantville High School has been accused of having sex with an 18 year old student. Jessica Gaeckle of Galloway Township was arrested Friday according to the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. Gaeckle is also accused of asking the student to destroy evidence upon learning of the investigation.
