Lower Township Police announced that portions of Townbank and Shunpike roads will be closed on Sunday, September 23rd for a Run the Vineyards 5K run event. Police say the closures will last about two hours, starting at 9:00am. Delays are expected in those areas.

The Avalon Office of Emergency Management announced that the station provides current weather conditions and archives historical data for resiliency purposes. North Wildwood Police have announced restrictions for next weekend’s Irish Fall Festival. Olde New Jersey Avenue from 2nd Avenue to Pine Avenue and surrounding streets will be closed for the festival. Backpacks and coolers will be prohibited; guests cannot bring alcohol into the festival site.

Ocean City is going to pay former car dealership owner Harry Klause $9 million for the lot that used to be his car dealership. City Council voted Thursday night to pay for the property, which is nearly two acres in size. The city intends to use the lot for some sort of public benefit.

North Wildwood’s council meets next week and is expected to approve an ordinance that would authorize a shared municipal court with Wildwood Crest. Council will also recognize the award of a grant that will pay for the reconstruction of a portion of 17th Avenue between Surf and Ocean Avenues. Council meets at 10:00am.
Rough surf conditions have cancelled the annual Nun’s Beach Surfing Contest in Stone Harbor for the weekend. The Borough announced that the dinner auction for the event will still be held, but the surfing event is cancelled and will not be rescheduled.
