New Jersey Congressman Jeff Van Drew has announced his committee assignments in the new session of Congress. Van Drew will serve on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee, as well as the Homeland Security Committee. Van Drew says he wants to focus on roads and bridges in southern New Jersey.
There is good news to report on the coronavirus front in New Jersey. The rate of transmission continues to drop, and today it stands at 0.91. That means the rate of the spread of the virus is slowing down. The state did confirm 107 new deaths on Wednesday.
New Jersey has vaccinated more people than the number of people who have actually contracted coronavirus. Governor Murphy announced Wednesday that over 642,000 people in the Garden State have received vaccines. Murphy is encouraged by news that more vaccines may be coming to New Jersey for distribution.
