A Flood Watch has been posted by the National Weather Service from Thursday evening through early Saturday morning. Some heavy rainfall is possible, especially on Friday, which will cause street flooding in poor drainage areas. Thunderstorms may also develop, worsening the problem.
A 37 year old member of the Cape May County Sheriff’s Office was found not guilty of sexually assaulting a subordinate. A jury returned a not guilty verdict against Sergeant Jay Gaskill of Middle Township. Gaskill was acquitted of second degree sexual assault and fourth degree criminal sexual contact.
A water company that provides water throughout many parts of the state is implementing a 12 percent rate increase. Customers of New Jersey American Water Company will face a new rate as of June 15th that will increase the monthly bill by about six dollars. New Jersey American is the state’s largest water provider.
Bridgeton Police found a decomposed body behind a building early Wednesday morning. The discovery was made on South Laurel Street where homeless individuals often gather. The body is that of a male, and had been there for about a week. No word on the identity of the deceased.
Wildwood Crest Police have charged a 19 year old woman with making false claims to police. The woman is identified as Molly R. Doyle who called police to say that her boyfriend was suicidal, and he was armed with a weapon. The call was made on May 9th, and turned out to be untrue.

Police in Absecon have arrested a local man and charged him with being in possession of a handgun and drugs. Police announced the arrest of 30 year old Brandon D. Degree last Friday. Degree was hauled off to the County Jail on numerous offenses.
A missing woman and her son were both found safe and sound at a transportation center in Camden. Middle Township Police had issued an alert for Shannon Burgess and her three year old son who were reported missing yesterday. Authorities have thanked all agencies who were involved in the search.

Middle Township Police announced that a 34 year-old woman and her three year old son who were reported missing on Tuesday have been found. Shannon Burgess and her son were last seen boarding a bus headed for Camden. They were both found safe in Camden on Wednesday afternoon.
