Cape May County is now under an Excessive Heat Warning, even our beachfront communities. The National Weather Service has established the warning from 12 Noon on Friday through Sunday evening for heat index values to max out at 115 degrees Saturday afternoon. The most dangerous heat will be mid afternoon through the early evening hours.
Four Cumberland County residents have been charged by State Police with various drugs and weapons offenses. Among them was 27 year old James Rose of Bridgeton, who is accused of operating a drug business out of a mobile home park in Vineland. Rose and others have been slapped with various weapons and drug offenses.

Murphy says it will be just as hot at the shore as it will be in the mountains. Some local communities are opening cooling centers for those who have no air conditioning at home.
Atlantic City Electric wants the public to conserve electricity during this weekend’s heat wave. The utility is asking customers to cut back their use of electricity between the hours of 1pm and 5pm in an attempt to save power. The utility says there should be sufficient electricity to meet the higher demand period.
