The Vineland City Council has a new member. Elizabeth Arthur was sworn in to the Council seat Wednesday previously held by Angela Calakos. Calakos resigned in October because she was moving to Mays Landing.
Andy Kim’s time in the Situation Room has paid off. Kim has officially won the 3rd Congressional District race in South Jersey over Tom MacArthur. That means republicans from New Jersey hold just one seat in the upcoming Congress. The provisionals were counted, and Kim has been declared the winner.
The former Atlantic Club Casino in Atlantic City is again under negotiations to be sold. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Advanced Consulting, Inc. from New York is attempting to purchase the property. If it’s sold, the Atlantic Club would be converted into a non-gambling hotel resort.
Resorts Casino in Atlantic City will be getting a full sports betting facility, courtesy of Draft Kings. The new facility is expected to open before the end of the month. The room will be 5,000 square feet and be located where patrons walk in to the casino from the boardwalk.
A 40 year old Egg Harbor Township man has pleaded guilty to charges of accepting child pornography. Matthew Wolny admitted receiving the images before a federal judge. Wolney used file sharing software in order to download the images and videos.
A fifth person has been arrested and charged with the killing of youth football coach Joseph Jones in Millville. Authorities announced that 27 year old Clifton D. Bailey of Camden has been charged with homicide and conspiracy to commit homicide in connection with the case. Bailey was arrested Monday and had drugs in his possession.
