It’s a beach sweep weekend in many shore resorts this weekend. Clean Ocean Action is holding beach sweep events in many communities this weekend, including Wildwood Crest, Sea Isle City, and Avalon. The event is held to remove some of the human-created litter on the beaches in advance of the summer season.

A 22 year old Estell Manor man has been charged with dumping trash into a wildlife management area in Cumberland and Atlantic counties. Authorities say David Udowiczyk tossed the trash into the Peaslee Wildlife Management Area. The trash was largely contractor bags; he’s been fined $20,000.

A water main break is impacting travel Thursday on a portion of Mechanic Street in Cape May Court House. Middle Township Police say the break occurred this morning near Magnolia Drive. There are some road closures and traffic delays in the area until the crews are finished repairing the break.
