Your king and queen of the National Marbles Tournament in Wildwood are 14 year old Madison Johnson and 14 year old Joshua Johnston, both of Pennsylvania. They were crowned Thursday as the winners of the 95th annual National Marbles Championship at Ringer Stadium in Wildwood.
53 year old Joseph Mulholland of the Villas has admitted to his role in the drug and murder scheme that claimed the life of April Kauffman. Jurors get back to work Thursday in the Josh Vadell shooting trial. Vadell is the former Atlantic City cop who was shot in the head during a crime in the city’s downtown shopping district back in 2016. Two Cumberland County men are charged with attempted murder and other offenses; Vadell survived the shooting.
The April Kauffman murder case will be featured on ABC’s “20/20” program Friday evening. Kauffman was the Atlantic County woman who was killed by a hired hitman with her husband’s involvement. Her husband eventually committed suicide.
Governor Phil Murphy and his fellow legislative democrats cannot reach a budget agreement. Both sides met on Thursday and at the end of the day, no budget. Murphy is digging his heels on on tax proposals that are getting no support in Trenton. Murphy promises to veto any budget that doesn’t include the tax hikes.
There was another school bus crash in New Jersey Thursday. 25 children were sent to the hospital following a two vehicle accident Thursday afternoon in the northern New Jersey community of Englewood. None of the children were seriously injured in the accident. Students complained of minor injuries.
Vineland Police say a student thought a smoke bomb would be a good way to end the year at Vineland High School South on Thursday. Someone tossed the smoke bomb inside the school during the lunch hour on Thursday. There was no fire inside the building, and no reported injuries.

North Wildwood Police will be kicking off their summertime “Coffee with a Cop” program Friday morning. Police will be at 15th Street and the Boardwalk to answer any questions or to voice concerns about various public safety issues in the community. The event starts Friday at 9am.
An animal cruelty law that was sponsored by local lawmakers has cleared the Assembly.The law requires animal abusers to pay up for the cost of caring for the animal they harmed. The measure now goes to the full Senate for consideration.
