Holy Spirit High School graduate Joe Callahan will get his third shot to quarterback an NFL team. Callahan is going to sign with the Baltimore Ravens, if he passes a physical. Callahan has served as a backup in both Philadelphia and Green Bay.
Lower Township Police have announced that the annual Coombs Douglass Run will be held on Sunday evening, starting at 6:30pm. The run will result in various detours and road closures Sunday evening as a result of the run. No parking signs will be up along Beach and Shore drives.
Construction will soon start one hour later in Sea Isle City. The City Commission introduced an ordinance this month that will change the start time of construction from 7:00am until 8:00am. Other towns have recently adjusted their construction schedules, including last year in Avalon.
The Wildwood Crest Beach Patrol won another competition last night, this time in Avalon. The Crest outpointed Avalon by a single point to win the Kerr Memorials. Avalon had won the competition for the past eight years. This is the fourth victory for the Crest Beach patrol this season.

Come Thursday, terminally ill New Jersey residents will be able to request a medication that will end their lives. The Medical Aid in Dying for the Terminally Ill law will take effect on August 1st. Supporters say it helps terminally ill people with making a decision when their suffering may end.
Two people were trapped inside a vehicle after a car hit a tree in Galloway Township Saturday evening. Authorities say one person was trapped in the car for an hour and a half. The crash occurred on South Seaview Avenue.
The Dennis Township Committee has voted to reject a proposal to have a medical marijuana facility within its borders. The Committee said the proposal by an LLC did not have a business plan and was only conceptual in nature.
An appellate court has upheld a lower court ruling that says Wildwood elementary school children can be taught in a building in North Wildwood without permission from North Wildwood itself. Earlier this month the court upheld a decision regarding the Wildwood School District operating a preschool out of St. Simeon Episcopalian Church, since 2002.
