The Hereford Inlet Lighthouse received a new rotating beacon light courtesy of the United States Coast Guard on Thursday. The new light replaces a unit that operated on the property from 1964 through this May, before malfunctioning. The light had been replaced by a temporary LED lamp.

Various fees will be going up at Rutgers University in the fall. The state’s university announced that there will be a 2.3 percent increase in various fees and tuition during the upcoming school year. The average in-state students will pay just under $15,000 to attend Rutgers.
The Fox Manor Hotel in Atlantic City has been shut down by city officials due to various conditions in the building. The Press of Atlantic City reports that there were more than 70 code violations inside the building, and only five have been corrected. Anyone staying at the hotel was given 48 hours to leave.
