Incumbent Pete Bryon has split from his former ticket and is running with Steve Mikulski and Krista Fitzsimons. In a press release, the ticket points to annual big tax increases and deteriorating infrastructure as reasons for seeking elected office.
Two former Lower Cape May Regional basketball standouts have been hired to coach Division I college basketball. Lauren Holden has been hired to be an assistant at Farleigh Dickinson University, while Stephanie Carideo is now an assistant at the University of Pennsylvania. A pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle at 34th Street and West Avenue in Ocean City Saturday morning. Police say the victim of the accident suffered non-life threatening injuries. The identity of the victim and the driver have not been released.
The last KMart store in our area will close by the end of the year. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the KMart in Somers Point will close in December, with liquidation sales starting in a couple of weeks. The store in Rio Grande closed two years ago.
