A 41 year old woman was killed after her vehicle was struck by a pickup truck in Vineland Sunday afternoon. Police say Rochelle Caldwell of Vineland lost her life when her car was struck on West Chestnut Avenue. The 21 year old driver of the truck that struck Caldwell fled the scene of the accident.
State Senator Jeff Van Drew has penned a letter to the Director of New Jersey Transit in an attempt to keep the Atlantic City Rail Line open for business. Van Drew told Director Kevin Corbett that there were many people who work in Atlantic City who depend on the rail service for employment.

Gas prices continue to drop before the Labor Day holiday weekend. AAA Mid Atlantic reports that gas prices dropped by two cents a gallon last week to $2.88 a gallon. The prices are still about half a dollar higher than they were at this time last summer.
One of the three men wanted for ambushing two law enforcement personnel in Camden earlier this month has been captured. Police over the weekend announced that 20 year old Juan M. Figueroa was arrested without incident in Gloucester City. Police have charged Figueroa and two others with attempted murder and other serious offenses.
It’s air show week in Atlantic City. The city will be hosting its annual “Thunder Over the Boardwalk” event on Wednesday which will draw nearly a half million people to the resort. The show is visible from the entire length of the city’s beachfront.
