The United States Coast Guard rescued four people from a boat that was taking on water Saturday. The Guard was assisted by a local ferry service in rescuing the four individuals on board the 21 foot boat. There were no injuries; all four on the boat were wearing life jackets.
The Lower Township Council meets Monday evening and is expected to award a contract to Ocean First Bank for banking services in the community. A Millville man has been sentenced to serve 25 years in prison for attempted murder. Imani Priester was in court on Thursday and pleaded guilty to shooting a man four times on Oak Street in the city last August. Priester pleaded guilty to a first degree attempted murder charge.
The Social Security office in Egg Harbor Township is again open for business following last week’s accident that resulted in a car plowing into the building. Police said about 20 people suffered injuries when the Nissan tried to park and instead drove into the building. The office is located on Doughty Road.
