43 year old Heather Barbera of Ventnor has pleaded guilty to the beating death of her grandmother and mother. The plea was announced by the Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office. She is expected to be sentenced to more than four decades behind bars.

Authorities have released a sketch of a man with whom authorities wish to speak with in connection with the disappearance of Dulce Alavez of Bridgeton last month. They say the man is not a suspect but is wanted for questioning. The little girl disappeared back on September 16th, in Bridgeton.
Cape May County will attempt to pursue an emergency declaration due to beach damage caused by this weekend’s storm. County OEM Director Marty Pagliughi is getting damage estimates that may trigger an emergency declaration by the State of New Jersey. That would be the first step in perhaps securing emergency funding for repair work.
It’s time to hunt for bear in the Garden State. The black bear hunt got underway Monday and is now open to hunters with bows and arrows. Rifle hunters can participate on Thursday and Friday. The bear hunt is restricted to five zones, none of which are on state property.
