A former longtime commissioner for the Borough of West Wildwood has passed away at the age of 72. William Braker served as the Commissioner of Revenue and Finance for the community from 1974 through 1996. Services will be held Friday morning at the First Baptist Church of Wildwood.
The first and only debate between two candidates for United States Senate in New Jersey was held last night. Robert Menendez and Bob Hugin battled at a television station Wednesday night, and traded barbs on a host of topics. Hugin is a republican and within single digits of Menendez in many pre-election polls.

The dirty diaper dumper has been captured. Police in Franklin Township have arrested a 68 year old Newfield man for dumping loads of dirty diapers in intersections. William Friedman was caught dumping the diapers in Malaga shortly after 3:00am Sunday. Friedman admitted to dumping the soiled diapers at intersections for the past ten months.

There could be a split on the freeholder board after it barely approved the reappointment of administrator Elizabeth Bozelli. The Board voted 3-2 on the appointment, with freeholders Will Morey and Marie Hayes dissenting. Morey wanted the appointment to be postponed so other options could be explored.
The County of Cape May and Atlantic Cape Community College are teaming up on a project that will result in new public messaging opportunities for the County. South Jersey Gas has announced that a major project will occur in Wildwood Crest starting next Monday. The new project will result in excess flow valves being placed on natural gas lines. Work will be conducted during the week, on Saturdays if needed.
