The West Cape May borough commission meets Wednesday evening. It is expected to reintroduce an ordinance that would regulate tents in the community, and amend another ordinance that would add further restrictions on single use carry out bags. Wednesday’s meeting begins at 7:00pm.

A standoff has ended in Galloway Township. Police say a subject who was armed with a machete ended Tuesday afternoon, ending a shelter in place suggestion from authorities. One man was taken from the scene of the standoff.
The United States Coast Guard rescued four boaters who ran aground near Atlantic City Monday evening. The boaters had little food and water on board, and requested assistance from the Coast Guard. All four were hoisted out of their boat by a helicopter and taken to safety.
A 31 year old man from Millville was killed Friday when his motorcycle collided head on with an SUV int he city. Police say Raymond Garrido was killed when his bike entered the opposite lane of traffic on a curve. Garrido was pronounced dead at the scene.
There will be no toll hike on the Garden State Parkway in 2020. The New Jersey Turnpike Authority approved a new budget Tuesday that guarantees no increase in tolls next year. There was more traffic on the Parkway and Turnpike this year, resulting in more revenue for the Authority.

A major beach fill project in Avalon is underway. Sand began being pumped on the beaches of the community Friday afternoon. Three north end beach paths are closed as Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company fills in the beaches damaged by repeated coastal storm events.
