A Vineland police officer alleges that Chief Rudy Beu would only promote him if the Chief could sleep with the officer’s wife, or daughter. NJ.com reports that a lawsuit was filed by Ronald DeMarchi on November 1st alleging the illegal activity. The officer says the Chief made numerous sexual comments about his wife and daughter.
Fire crews were called to the scene of a blaze at a Victorian style home on Howard Street in Cape May Sunday afternoon. The fire started shortly after 12 Noon on the first floor of the three story structure. The scene was cleared two hours later; there were no injuries.
New Jersey Attorney General Gurbir Grewal announced that more than 125 deputies will be dispatched around the State Tuesday to ensure compliance with election laws. Cape May County, and the other 20 counties, will all have deputies assigned to answer any questions that come during balloting on Tuesday.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon in Ocean City for former Congressman Bill Hughes. Hundreds of people attended the services at the Holy Trinity Episcopal Church. Hughes served in Congress in our district as recently as 1995.

The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection begins a project this week that will help preserve the East Point Lighthouse on the Delaware Bay from future flooding events. This is the second oldest lighthouse in the state. Nearly a half million dollars will be spent to install a geotube that will help mitigate flooding problems.

A 40 year old Pitman man is headed to prison for 17 years for filming young boys at a summer theater camp. Thomas Guzzi Jr. was sentenced on Friday. He used the videos to make a music video for his own enjoyment. Guzzi must serve as least ten years behind bars.
