Cape May’s council winners appear to be Deputy Mayor Shaine Meier, Stacy Sheehan, and Zack Mullock. The Cape May Star and Wave reports that Mullock was the top vote getter with 626 votes, with Sheehan receiving 558, and Meier, 446. These figures do not include mail in or provisionals ballots, and the results are unofficial.
With ten percent of the votes counted statewide, republican Bob Hugin holds a lead over democrat Robert Menendez in the Senate race. Hugin has 49 percent of the vote totals, with Menendez at 46.7 percent..this despite at least one news organization projected Menendez to win the election tonight.
Voters in Middle Township filled three seats on the local school board. The top vote getter was Kim Krauss; she will be joined on the board by Stephanie Thomas and David Todd McCarthy. Edward Dagney finished a distant fourth.
A huge win for the republicans in Middle Township. Democrat Jeff DeVico was unseated on the Township Committee by republican newcomer Ike Gandy. The final vote totals issued by the Clerk’s Office show Gandy with 4,003 votes compared to DeVico’s 3,628 votes. This puts the Middle Township Committee back in control of the Republican Party.
The two candidates who ran unopposed for Stone Harbor Borough Council were victorious Tuesday night. Raymond Parzych was the top vote getter in the election, followed by Robert J. Levins. Nearly one percent of the votes have been counted in New Jersey’s Senate race and it’s razor tight. Democrat Robert Menendez holds a slim 1.2 percent lead over republican Bob Hugin. Menendez has 48 percent of the vote, so far.

At least one news organization projects Senator Robert Menendez will be re-elected in New Jersey due to exit polls, but the race has tightened up. With nearly one percent of the vote in, Menendez leads republican Bob Hugin by three percentage points. However, hundreds of thousands of votes still need to be counted.
A couple of democrats have won big in the state of Pennsylvania. Both Governor Tom Wolf and Senator Bob Casey have been returned to office by voters according to various exit polls and news organizations.
Coastal Broadcasting Systems has learned that democratic incumbent Jeff DeVico has a very early lead over republican Ike Gandy in a race for a Township Committee seat. Absentees have given DeVico a 74 vote lead over Gandy with all of the votes cast at polling places still to be tallied up.
