A home belonging to a firefighter in Mullica Township, Atlantic County went up in flames early Monday morning. Authorities say the fire began in the home around 4am and spread throughout the house. The home is said to be a total loss; there were no injuries.
The long reconstruction of the county’s Ingram’s Thorofare Bridge in Middle Township begins Tuesday. Traffic control devices are expected to be set up on the bridge Tuesday as the county replaces the entire bridge surface. The bridge is the high span bridge on Avalon Boulevard outside of Avalon Manor.

Cape May will be looking for a new city manager. Neil Young has decided that he does not want to continue in the job and will step down, creating a big vacancy in government. Young will stay on in Cape May as chief financial officer.
Atlantic County Prosecutor Damon Tyner is being sued by a Delaware bank because he defaulted on a loan. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Tyner owed Discover Bank over $8,500 on the loan. The suit was filed in Atlantic County Superior Court last month.
Ocean City is getting ready for a beach fill project. Mayor Jay Gillian says the project will begin in January and likely run through February. Great Lakes Dredge and Dock Company is nearly finished with a project in Avalon before it begins moving up the coast.
A 67 year old man from Delaware was charged with drug offenses and other charged following a four car motor vehicle crash Friday afternoon in Hamilton Township. Police say a Lexus driven by Van Vasilades started the four car accident on Route 322. He was charged with possession of heroin and driving while intoxicated.
