New Jersey Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin says a bill is coming in Trenton that will raise the minimum wage to $15 an hour. Coughlin says the bill is a few months away and will gradually phase in the new higher minimum wage. A vote by the Assembly is possible next month.
A two year old boy from Southampton was found dead in a pond Friday, about 200 yards away from the family home. New Jersey State Police say the initial call came in around 11am, and the boy’s body was found a short time later. The victim has been identified as Adam Reed.
The 3rd District Congressional race will likely come down to provisional ballots. Democrat Andy Kim pulled ahead of republican Tom MacArthur courtesy of mail in ballots, and now the provisionals will be counted. Kim’s lead is now around 2,000 votes.

President Trump’s next Attorney General may be the man who’s wanted the job from the beginning. Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was at the White House Thursday and reports suggest he’s under heavy consideration to be the next Attorney General for the United States.
Governor Phil Murphy has signed a new gun control bill into law. The new bill eliminates ghost guns that can be assembled at home with untraceable elements. 3D printable guns are also banned; anyone with one could face up to five years in prison.
New Jersey’s Motor Vehicle Commission will be closed on Monday in celebration of the Veterans Day holiday. All facilities including agencies will be shut down. Many local governments will also recognize the holiday on Monday as well.
Lower Township has announced a road closure Saturday morning for the Township’s first ever Veterans parade. The parade will be held along Bayshore Road in the Villas and begins at 11:00am on Saturday. Bayshore Road will be closed from Alabama to Village Road for a couple of hours, beginning at 10:15am.
Two people were injured Thursday afternoon when they were struck by a car along the side of Watsons Mill Road in Alloway Township, Salem County. When police arrived, they found two bicycles that were damaged at the scene. Medivacs were sent to assist with the injured. So far, no names have been released.
