The Wildwood Fire Department has two brand new emergency medical service bicycles that were donated by the Wildwood Business Improvement District and the Boardwalk Special Improvement District. The new bikes were purchased from Zippy’s Bikes and replace two 15-year old bikes in the fleet.

Three candidates have submitted petitions to run for a vacant commission seat in West Wildwood. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the three candidates are Anna Doherty, John Banning, and Amy Korobellis. The seat of former commissioner Cornelius Maxwell was vacated earlier this year.
A major repaving project is coming to Route 55 in Cumberland County this month. State officials say there will be lane closures and work being done on the highway in both Cumberland and Gloucester counties. Work will be done Monday through Thursday for a few weeks.

A 62 year old Margate man admitted to taking money from his business customers to support his gambling habit. Barry Markman pleaded guilty to income tax evasion for taking money from people who wanted window treatments and shutters. Markman took checks from customers and deposited the money into his private account.
The casino industry is doing so well that the Borgata is making a $14 million investment in improvements. The Borgata told the Associated Press that it will spend the money on a huge makeover in its lobby, and 300 hotel rooms. All of the work should be completed by early 2020.

A 35 year old Millville man is headed to federal court on charges that he committed fraud against dozens of people on online dating sites. Rubbin Sarpong was arrested on Wednesday and charged with the crimes. He could face 20 years in prison, if convicted.
