A 60 year old man from Hamilton Township was seriously injured when a dump truck turned over on his car Thursday on the Black Horse Pike. Police say William Kovacs was airlifted to a local hospital following the accident. The truck driver is from Vineland; he was less seriously injured.
Congressman Jeff Van Drew has a new campaign manager heading into the 2020 election season. Ron Filan was hired, according to a press release. Van Drew says “Washington liberals” are looking to take down himself, and President Trump, next year and Filan is the right man for the job.
The chief of the Wildwood City Fire Department will retire next Wednesday. Daniel Spiegel will retire after serving the city for the past 28 years. Deputy Fire Chief Ernie Troiano will lead the department until the job is filled.
A new Amazon distribution center that will open in New Jersey in 2020 will create about 1,000 new jobs. NJ.com reports that the facility is being constructed in Somerset County and will open during the first half of the year. Bulk items will be received and separated into smaller packages.

It’s 25 years in a state prison for 41 year old Christopher R. Small of Millville. Small caused the drug inducted death of 54 year old Kevin MacFarlane of Avalon last October. Wildwood Crest Police Chief Joseph McGrath is retiring. The Borough announced on its social media page that McGrath will be retiring and a new chief will be in place for 2020. McGrath took over the department five years ago.
The Lower Township Council will hold a special meeting early Christmas Eve morning to award a contract for the Schellenger’s Landing Safety Improvement initiative. The contact is expected to be awarded to Charles Marandino LLC for just over $1.2 million. The meeting will be held at 8:00am Tuesday.
