James Norris has earned the republicans’ support to run in the November Middle Township Committee race. The Middle Township Regular Republican Organization met Tuesday and picked Norris to run for a seat on the Township Committee. He works for Jersey Cape Diagnostic Training and Opportunity Center.
Wildwood Catholic boys are the last basketball team standing in Cape May County. The Crusaders defeated Immaculate, 80-66 to advance to the South Jersey Non Public B championship basketball game. Wildwood Catholic will play Ranney, the second seed, in the title game Wednesday at 7pm.
An incredible playoff run for the Wildwood Warriors boys basketball team is over. Wildwood dropped a tough 64-63 decision to Clayton in the South Jersey Group I championship game Tuesday night. Wildwood lead by seven with just under four minutes to go but couldn’t hold on.
The Middle Township Lady Panthers came up just a little short in their bid to win a South Jersey Group II championship. Middle fell to Manchester Township, 61-36 to cap off a very good season. Middle trailed at the half, 36-9 and never recovered.
Two of the six men accused of killing a youth football coach at a Millville school last year have pleaded not guilty to the crime. The two men are accused of killing 37 year old Joseph “Jojo” Jones in the parking lot of a middle school last August. Four other men also face charges.
A 40 year old man from the Jersey Shore has been busted, charged with possessing over 1,000 images of child pornography and sharing them online. Michael D’Elia of Waretown was the subject of a four month investigation by law enforcement. Police found the photos on numerous devices in his home.

Governor Phil Murphy delivered his budget address to the legislature Tuesday afternoon. Murphy continues to tout the fact that he intends to save $1.1 billion in the budget due to reduced health care costs and departmental costs. Murphy says he intends to fix New Jersey Transit and work to improve the middle class.
One of the biggest shopping events during the winter season begins Thursday in Avalon. The annual Shop a Holics weekend will be held Thursday through Saturday at both the Whitebrier and the Princeton. Avalon merchants will be offering deep discounts on merchandise. Donations are being accepted for the local “Friend in Need” charity as well.
