The Cape May Elementary Board of Education overwhelmingly approved the next two phases of the Lafayette Street Park Plan. The Cape May Star and Wave reports that the school is satisfied all security plans have been met. A presentation on the plan was made at Thursday’s Board of Education meeting.
Matt Szczur is now a member of the Arizona Diamondbacks organization. 50 year old Ronnie Erricson of Middle Township has pleaded guilty to running a psychology practice despite not having the license to do so. Erricson is a former corrections officer, and has received a term of five years of probation for the crime. Erricson now has to undergo a mental health evaluation.
A 31 year old Ocean City woman pleaded guilty to causing the drug induced death of William Ang last June. Alissa Cunningham was in court this week and admitted to the crime. She will be sentenced in February.
County freeholders have approved a $24.1 million bond ordinance that will create a new use for the former Kmart store in Rio Grande. The site is expected to become the new building for the Department of Social Services. There will be new access roads and the demolition of some of the mall area.
President Trump’s Bedminster Golf Club is being investigated for harassment and immigration fraud. The New Jersey Attorney General’s Office confirmed that several housekeepers at the facility have filed the complaint. They were all undocumented at the time they worked for the Club.
There were no winners in last night’s drawing for the Mega Millions lottery jackpot. State lottery officials say Tuesday’s jackpot will now be worth $284 million. The winning numbers drawn Friday night were 5, 22, 26, 43, 49, with the mega ball being 23.
