New Jersey now has at least two cases of coronavirus. State officials have confirmed one case is in Bergen County, and the second affects a man in his 30s also in northern New Jersey. Both patients are said to be doing well.
The Philadelphia Eagles and offensive lineman Jason Peters are parting ways. The Eagles released a statement today saying that both sides have mutually agreed that Peters will hit the open market when free agency begins later this month. Peters has played left tackle for the Eagles.

It’s ten years in prison for 45 year old Javier Cruz-Rojas of Pleasantville. Atlantic County authorities say he gets the long prison term for repeatedly sexually assaulting a minor over a two year period when the victim was just eight years old. Cruz-Rojas will have to serve at least 85 percent of his sentence.

An active taxpayers group in Cape May is scheduled to meet Friday morning. The Taxpayers Association of Cape May will hold a special meeting at the Kiwanis Clubhouse in the city. The group will discuss current litigation and efforts to construct a public safety building.
There will be no tax increase in Middle Township in 2020. The Township Committee this week introduced a new $22 million spending plan that holds the line on taxes. Middle Township may have the same tax rate for three consecutive years, if this budget is approved.
It looks like there will be a contested race for a vacant Council seat in Ocean City. Tom Rotondi turns in his nominating petition this week for the seat vacated by Assemblyman Antwan McClellan. Rotondi is expected to square off against Gabe Staino for the seat.
