A fire that gutted a part of the Playland’s Castaway Cove on the Ocean City Boardwalk last month has been ruled accidental in nature. The Press of Atlantic City reports that the fire started an in electrical source near the front of the building. No one was injured while fighting the fire.
Wildwood Crest is taking a proactive approach to help some local businesses impacted by Covid restrictions. Crest officials announced Monday that temporary site plans will be allowed for restaurants and retail businesses. Also, the back beach areas will be used for motels to put deck and lounge chairs for the comfort of their patrons.
Repairs to the Middle Thorofare Bridge in Lower Township continue this week. Lower Township Police announced that the bridge will be closed to all vehicular traffic this Wednesday night between the hours of 9:00pm-5:00am. This portion of the bridge project is expected to end by the end of the year.
A 23 year old man from Absecon was killed early Sunday during a motor vehicle accident on Route 30 in Atlantic City. Police say Devante Schriver lost his life when his vehicle left the road and struck a utility pole. The cause of the accident remains under investigation.

The Delaware River and Bay Authority will be holding a media event on Thursday to promote a new commercial air service between the Wilmington-New Castle Airport and Orlando, Florida. Frontier Airlines will be on hand to celebrate the first flight between the two locations later this week. A 180-seat Airbus A320 will provide the service.
