The first ever restaurant liquor license has been awarded in West Cape May. The Cape May Star and Wave reports that the Borough Commission awarded a license to West Cape May Liquor, LLC which is known as the Exit 0 Filling Station. The price of the license? $480,000.
New Jersey State Police have arrested a 40 year old Millville man, charging him with ripping off heavy duty extension cords from Hanson Aggregates in Commercial Township. Social media tips led police to charge Terry R. Zeller with theft by unlawful taking and receiving stolen property. He’s holed up in the Cumberland County Jail.
There has been a reported death in Wildwood Police custody. The Press of Atlantic City reports that a person died in custody, but there’s no word on the gender or identity of the individual, or when this death occurred. More information is expected from the County Prosecutor’s Office.
State officials are warning the public to use their Payless Shoe Store gift cards now, or lose their value forever. The company is closing all of its stores, and the gift card values will expire on March 11th. Stores have already stopped accepting returns and coupons.
A 64 year old woman from Mays Landing has been arrested and charged after police found over a pound of marijuana inside her vehicle. Police say they made a traffic stop back on February 20th and found the drugs in the vehicle belonging to Mary Consalvo. She has been charged with multiple drug offenses.

Wildwood Crest will likely conduct a back passing beach fill project this spring. The Crest Commission meets today and is expected to authorize going out to bid for the project. It will use a local engineering firm to coordinate the efforts.
Middle Township announced on its website that the bike path and fields at the Goshen Complex are closed until further notice. The announcement cites “current conditions” as the cause of the closures. There is some standing water in the area.
