New Jersey is extending its fiscal year. Governor Phil Murphy announced Wednesday that due to the coronavirus crisis, the fiscal year that was set to end on June 30th has now been extended to September 30th. Murphy announced that a temporary appropriations budget will be made to extend the current fiscal year.
The death toll from Covid-19 in New Jersey is staggering. New numbers released Wednesday show 355 deaths from coronavirus in the Garden State, an increase of nearly 100 additional deaths in just one day. There are now 22,255 confirmed cases of coronavirus in New Jersey during this pandemic.
The federal government is providing another 350 ventilators to New Jersey. That news was announced Wednesday by Governor Phil Murphy. Murphy says he’s grateful for the additional ventilators but also says New Jersey needs more.
