Wildwood Crest is honoring its first-ever recipient of a Wellness Poster. 8th grader Carly Murphy of Crest Memorial School was honored by Wildwood Crest Mayor Don Cabrera and others for developing the poster. Winners were selected by a panel created by the Wildwood Crest Department of Recreation.
The Miss New Jersey Pageant gets underway Wednesday night in its new home. The pageant has left Ocean City and moved up the coastline by ten miles to Atlantic City, where the event will be held in the Superstar Theater inside Resorts International Casino. 28 candidates will try to win the crown.
Police in Brick are investigating a murder-suicide. NJ.com reports that a 79 year old man shot his 80 year old wife to death, and then turned the gun on himself. The killings occurred this morning. Police have not released the names of those involved.
Hotels that offer more than 100 rooms will now be obligated to provide so-called “panic buttons” to staff members to help report an immediate problem, including sexual assault. The measure passed unanimously in both the New Jersey Senate and Assembly.
A brand new mural honoring veterans now adorns the Greater Wildwood Elks Lodge. The mural was dedicated on June 6th, facing New Jersey Avenue. The mural was created by local artist Mike Gallo. The Lodge was issued its charter 56 years ago and has over 5,000 members.
