Avalon has authorized funding for a hydraulic beach fill. Council approved the action during its meeting on Wednesday. According to Business Administrator Scott Wahl, extra sand is being added to the project courtesy of a cooperative agreement with the United States Army Corps of Engineers and the New Jersey DEP.
Cape May County Sheriff Bob Nolan and the County have officially sued the New Jersey Attorney General over the Immigration Trust Directive. The County contends that it wants the agreement to continue that allows local law enforcement agencies to cooperate with ICE officials.

A few thousand people lost power Wednesday night as a result of a storm front that came through our region. A large power outage affected Ocean City, while trees were reported down on some local roadways including on Route 9 in Cape May Court House.
Shots were fired Tuesday afternoon near Holy Spirit High School in Absecon. Police say shots were fired but there were no injuries. The suspects fled the scene of the shooting on foot. Police say no suspects were located.

The Deauville Inn in Strathmere has been sold. The Press of Atlantic City reportst that the property has been sold to Tim Fox of Fox Rehabilitation. The transfer takes place on October 28th and is expected to remain a restaurant.
Guilty verdicts were handed down to Christopher Small and Christopher Verity regarding the drug inducted death of Kevin MacFarlane. MacFarlane died last October as a result of a drug overdose when then led to the arrest of Small and Verity. Both could face between ten to 20 years behind bars.
Atlantic City Police confirm a body was found in the ocean Tuesday off the Pacific Avenue beach in the resort. Police are not releasing a gender or identity of the individual who was found in the water, pending a report from the medical examiner.
