An unknown republican from New Jersey announced today he will seek his party’s nomination for a United States Senate seat currently held by democrat Cory Booker. Stuart Meissner announced he has formed an exploratory committee for a campaign. Meissner calls Booker’s record “abysmal”.
Zachary Palombo is the new principal of the Cape May City Elementary School. The Board of Education approved the appointment of Palombo to the position last week. He leaves Lower Cape May Regional where he served as assistant principal.
Authorities have found the body of a man who went kayaking in Cumberland County Monday and turned up missing this week. The body of the man was found near Thompson Beach in Heislerville. The Coast Guard has thanked all other first responders for searching for the man.

Cove Beach at Lake Lenape in Mays Landing is closed to bathers until at least Thursday. High level of bacteria counts were found in the water, which will be re-tested. The bacteria counts were high due to recent hot and humid weather.
The United States Coast Guard is searching for a missing kayaker in the Maurice River, in Cumberland County. Lower Township Police have charged 65 year old Raymond Paradise of the Villas with threatening several neighbors with a knife Monday afternoon. Paradise committed the crime near the Manor Lake/Lakeview Apartments in the Villas. There were no injuries. Paradise was subdued by police when he left his apartment and attempted re-entry.
Middle Township Police have charged a 42 year old man from Wildwood on an outstanding warrant, and for being in possession of one and a half ounces of suspected methamphetamine. Police say Andrew Wells was arrested Monday morning at the Joe Canal’s Plaza on Route 47 without incident. Wells was taken to the County jail.
North Wildwood Police have announced road closures for this coming Saturday due to the Tri the Wildwoods Triathlon event. Detours will begin in North Wildwood as early at 4am, with detours to be in place until 10:30am. Some road closures are expected on JFK Beach Drive, Surf Avenue, Central Avenue, and some side streets.
