Chris Sacco has resigned as the head football coach at Pleasantville High School. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Sacco resigned after posting a winning record over four seasons at the school. Sacco cites scheduling difficulties as a reason why he’s stepping down.
Criminal sentencing for former Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam will be held at the end of next month. Gilliam’s sentencing date was rescheduled for February 27th. He admitted that he cheated a basketball program out of $87,000 in funding. Gilliam has since resigned from office.
Recreation programs have been suspended at the Franklin Street School in Cape May due to environmental testing standards found in the kitchen. The closure is precautionary, as the test results in the gym were acceptable. Alternate locations for recreation are being pursued.
Two new faces join the Wildwood City Commission during its official reorganization at Noon Thursday. Pete Byron, Steve Milulski, and Krista Fitzsimons will all be sworn in to office; Byron is expected to be named mayor during the reorganization. Various departments will be assigned, and a temporary budget will be established.

Two people died during a stubborn house fire in Morris County on New Year’s Eve. Police say the fire started at dusk where one person was dead inside the home and a second injured. That person was taken via helicopter to a local hospital and also perished.
