Cape May County GOP Chairman Marcus Karavan will be seeking his second term as head of the local republican party. Karavan has been endorsed by every republican mayor in the County as he seeks reappointment. Karavan issued his letter of intent for the seat just over a month ago.

Senators Robert Menendez and Cory Booker have announced that $2.5 million in federal funds will be used to tear down old, lousy motels on the Black Horse Pike in West Atlantic City for flood mitigation purposes. Paul Skill is the new president of the Cape May County Chiefs Association. An event was held over the weekend where Skill assumed the leadership position. Local lawmakers, including Congressman Jeff Van Drew, were in attendance for Skill’s promotion.
The Middle Township girls swimming team advanced in the South Jersey playoffs Monday with a big 101-69 win over Woodstown. Five school records were set by the Lady Panthers in the meet. For the first time since 1983, the Lower Cape May wrestling program has won a playoff match. Lower Cape May defeated Oakcrest Monday night, 39-27 to advance in the playoffs.
