Governor Murphy has done an about face, again, regarding Covid-19 regulations. Murphy announced on Friday that smoking will not be allowed inside Atlantic City casinos. Previously, it was going to be allowed. Murphy said Friday the health evidence is just too great against allowing smoking inside casinos.
The State of New Jersey has received 804 reopening plans from schools throughout the state. Governor Phil Murphy says 607 of the plans have been deemed to be complete, and some have been returned because they were incomplete. 59 schools are returning to class with all-in classroom learning.

Republican Hirsch Singh is refusing to lose the republican primary race for United States Senate. Singh has filed a lawsuit alleging that there was poor management and fraud involved in the July primary election. Singh wants the results tossed out and a re-do of the election.
Drink up in Atlantic City. Governor Murphy has signed a new bill into law that will permit open containers on parts of the city’s boardwalk and beaches. Public drinking is now allowable in Atlantic City’s tourism district.

Avalon will be holding its popular paper shredding day on Labor Day. Borough officials moved the event from Mother’s Day weekend due to the coronavirus pandemic. It is free for Avalon residents and property owners and will be held at the Public Works facility.
The Wildwood Crest Borough-wide Yard Sale will be held on October 3rd. Crest officials say the event will begin at 8:00am and was moved from a May 2nd date earlier this year. Maps will not be available for this year’s yard sale.
There are five new cases of coronavirus reported in Cape May County. County health officials announced that all five were resident cases, and on the cusp of Labor Day weekend, none were non-resident cases. This county is now down to 55 resident cases of the virus.
