Cape May County reported 37 new cases of coronavirus on Monday. Seven of the 16 municipalities are in single digits with the number of overall cases. Lower and Middle townships have 72 resident cases each.
Gasoline prices have dropped by two cents per gallon over the past week. Mid Atlantic AAA reports that the average price for a gallon of gas in Cape May County is now $2.98. We remain five cents above the state average.
New Jersey American Water Company has purchased the water and wastewater system in Egg Harbor City for nearly $22 million. The Press of Atlantic City reported the deal Monday. The company will make $14 million worth of new investments.

Outdoor gathering limits are going up in New Jersey. Governor Murphy announced Monday that as of Friday, the limit will increase to 200 people. Indoor gathering limits will still be capped at 25. Capacity for indoor seating at large venues will go up slightly to 20 percent.

The National Weather Service has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch Sunday until 9:00pm. The Watch means conditions will be favorable to the development of severe storms this evening. A front is pushing towards South Jersey that could spark severe weather tonight.
New Jersey is about to expand the eligibility for those eligible to get the coronavirus vaccine. Starting Monday, restaurant, grocery, and warehouse workers will all be eligible to get the vaccines. In April, the number of vaccines coming to New Jersey is expected to greatly increase.
Cape May County reported 26 new positive Covid-19 cases on Sunday. There are fewer than 400 cases of the virus countywide. Cape May County has one of the lowest number of new cases per capita of any county in the State.
There is a good chance of severe weather late Sunday afternoon in Cape May County. The National Weather Service has put our region under a risk for severe thunderstorms and the potential for straight line winds or possibly a tornado. The greatest risk will be after 4:00pm.
