The 30 Chromebook laptop computers would be used by students who are conducting remote learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

Cape May County now has only 78 active coronavirus cases in residents. New figures released Sunday show five new cases were added Sunday, including two in North Wildwood. There are only eight non resident active cases. Only Avalon, Cape May Point, and West Cape May are Covid-free.
Former governor Chris Christie has remained silent on social media through the weekend after he checked himself in to Morristown Medical Center. Christie announced over the weekend that he has coronavirus, and says he went to the hospital because he has a history of asthma. Christie has received well wishes from politicians from both parties.
Regal Movie Theaters in New Jersey are expected to close, at least temporarily. Regal operates 11 theaters in New Jersey, including locations in Mays Landing and Vineland. The theaters are being closed for the time being because movie attendance has been poor during the slow recovery from Covid-19.
The rate of transmission for coronavirus in the Garden State continues to rise. The rate has risen for one full week thanks in part to Ocean County, which accounted for 150 of the state’s 637 new cases on Sunday. The rate of transmission now stands at 1.26.
New Jersey reported nearly 800 new cases of coronavirus on Friday. State health officials say 796 new cases were added on Friday, along with four new deaths. The rate of transmission continues to climb, as it has approached 1.2 percent. One quarter of all the new cases added Friday are in Ocean County.
