Searches are planned for both Sunday and Monday in Cumberland County for a girl who has been missing since September. Dulce Maria Alavez came up missing after she was seen at a park, and she has not been spotted since. The searches will culminate with a trip to City Hall in Bridgeton on Monday.
Vineland Police say an 18 year old woman was shot in the arm while inside a car on Thursday. Police say the woman was taken to a local hospital for treatment by a private vehicle. The bullet went through the victim’s arm and lodged in her chest; she is from Salem County.
48 year old Eric Winter of Vineland was arrested over the weekend and charged with threatening an off duty corrections officer with a knife. Chris Sacco has resigned as the head football coach at Pleasantville High School. The Press of Atlantic City reports that Sacco resigned after posting a winning record over four seasons at the school. Sacco cites scheduling difficulties as a reason why he’s stepping down.
Criminal sentencing for former Atlantic City Mayor Frank Gilliam will be held at the end of next month. Gilliam’s sentencing date was rescheduled for February 27th. He admitted that he cheated a basketball program out of $87,000 in funding. Gilliam has since resigned from office.
