Upper Township will name Vincent Morrison as its temporary Municipal Judge during its meeting Tuesday evening. The Committee will also pass a resolution that will urge the Governor to open all businesses and increase indoor dining capacity to 50 percent. The Committee is also expected to introduce a new $2 million bond ordinance.

Cape May County reported zero new community cases of coronavirus on Saturday. There was one additional non-resident case, and one additional long term care case. The County has 78 active community cases; seven towns have zero cases of the virus.
The Wildwood City Commission meets Wednesday afternoon and is expected to consider the sale of nearly $33 million in bond anticipation notes. The sale will include over $20 million in general bond anticipation notes. The Commission may also authorize an emergency interconnection agreement with the New Jersey American Water Company.
Former New Jersey Governor Chris Christie left a northern New Jersey hospital this weekend. Christie had coronavirus, and was released from the Morristown Medical Center on Saturday. Christie says he will have “more to say” about the virus this week.
There are 881 new cases of coronavirus reported in the State of New Jersey on Friday. State officials also confirm six additional deaths. Hotspots in the state include Ocean and Monmouth counties which have contributed heavily to the increase in coronavirus cases.

Cape May County has established an Opioid Fatality Review Team. The purpose of the team is to better address and understand overdose fatalities and to be better prepared in the future. The County has received a $100,000 grant from the New Jersey Department of Health to fund this new program.
Cape May County could be getting over $1 million in funding for coronavirus relief. Governor Murphy on Friday announced a new $60 million program that will allocate some funding to counties and towns who have suffered extraordinary expenses from the pandemic. Cape May County is in line to receive $1.3 million.
Democratic challenger Amy Kennedy challenged Congressman Jeff Van Drew over the content of some of his political advertising during their only debate last night at Stockton University’s Atlantic City campus.
