Atlantic City Police announced this afternoon that they recovered a handgun in connection with the arrest of a 31 year old male suspect. Police say Tevin Spivey of Atlantic City was arrested after police conducted a search warrant on his property relating to drugs and weapons. The arrest occurred on South Carolina Avenue.
A family that owns professional sports teams in Detroit is buying half of the Ocean Casino in Atlantic City. The Associated Press reports that the Ilitch family is purchasing a large portion of the casino. The family owns the Detroit Red Wings and Detroit Tigers sports franchises.

A man was shot to death, allegedly by a police officer, in Buena Vista Township Atlantic County Monday afternoon. A man reportedly stole a police vehicle from Franklin Township Police and led officers on a chase. He was stopped a short time later and shot to death by police.
Cape May County officials reported the death of a 64 year old man from Dennis Township, from coronavirus. The County announced 21 new positive tests on Monday. Nearly 27,000 County residents are now fully vaccinated.
New Jersey officials believe the cases of coronavirus will continue to grow before they flatten out, possibly for good. State officials say New Jersey should see a peak in about two weeks. On Monday, fewer than 3,000 new cases of the virus were reported, along with 15 deaths.
The Cape May City Council will discuss an ordinance that would regulate wireless facilities in the right of way during its Council meeting on Tuesday. Council is also expected to discuss commercial and daily beach tags during an ordinance that is up for adoption. Tuesday’s meeting begins at 6:00pm.
