If the congressional election were held today, democrat Amy Kennedy would defeat republican Jeff Van Drew, according to a poll from Monmouth University. The poll released on Monday shows Kennedy with a five-point lead over Van Drew in our Second Congressional District. Five percent say they are undecided.
New Jersey reported two new coronavirus deaths on Monday. State health officials say there are 522 new cases, with one third of them being in Ocean and Monmouth counties. The first Covid-19 case was reported in New Jersey on March 4th.

Lower Township’s council meets this evening and is expected to consider a resolution that would result in the Township loaning computers to the Lower Township Elementary School District. The 30 Chromebook laptop computers would be used by students who are conducting remote learning during the coronavirus pandemic.

Council is expected to discuss a matter involving Cape May Seashore Lines and the city’s welcome center. Cape May County now has only 78 active coronavirus cases in residents. New figures released Sunday show five new cases were added Sunday, including two in North Wildwood. There are only eight non resident active cases. Only Avalon, Cape May Point, and West Cape May are Covid-free.
