A democratic lawmaker from New Jersey has introduced a bill in Trenton that would require all beach umbrellas to be anchored to the sand in the State. Assemblyman Eric Houghtaling’s bill requires an anchoring device, tie downs, or sandbags. It would also require stores to post warning signs.
