Millville Police say a 24 year old man was shot in both of his legs Thursday night. The shooting took place on West Powell Street. There are no suspects in custody and the incident remains an active investigation.
Coronavirus has come as far south in New Jersey to Camden County. A man in his 60s came down with the virus and is being treated at Jefferson Cherry Hill Hospital. The Camden County Health Department says the risk of the virus to the general population remains very low.
New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy says he’s “on the mend” following surgery earlier this week to remove a tumor from his kidney. Murphy had announced that the tumor was likely cancerous and he would be operated on at a New York City hospital on Tuesday. Murphy is expected to make a full recovery.
A lobster roll store will open on the Wildwood boardwalk this year. NJ Advance Media has confirmed that Quincy’s Original Lobster Rolls will occupy a store front for the summer. It will be located at 3000 Boardwalk.
Cape May County is under a Coastal Flood Advisory until Saturday at 10:00am. Accu Weather reports that some rainfall, along with an easterly wind, can cause minor street flooding at times of high tide through Saturday morning. High tide generally occurs at 5:30pm Friday, and 5:45am Saturday, on the back bays.
A firefighter was briefly trapped inside a burning condominium complex in Mays Landing early Friday morning. The blaze broke out at the Mays Landing Village Complex on John Adams Court. The firefighter did not suffer serious injuries; no cause has been determined.
The Wildwood Catholic boys basketball team has advanced in the Non Public B playoffs. The Crusaders got 22 points from Jacob Hopping and defeated Holy Spirit Thursday night, 83-58. Wildwood Catholic takes on Mater Dei at home Saturday at 7pm. In girls’ action, Wildwood Catholic was eliminated from the postseason by Gil St. Bernard, 57-54.
