CHRISTIE GETS STATE LEADERSHIP AWARD

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie was in Washington, DC Monday to receive a major leadership award.  Christie was one of seven individuals from around the country who was awarded the award from the Harvard Kennedy School of Government.  The event was co-sponsored by the Washington Post; Christie was recognized for being an “unconventional state leader”.

PHILLIES ADD LAYNCE NIX TO LINE-UP

Multiple sources have reported that the Philadelphia Phillies have added a veteran hitter to their bench. The Phils will sign Washington Nationals left-handed outfielder Laynce Nix, who will most likely platoon in left field with right-hander John Mayberry Jr. This means that Raul Ibanez might not return to the Phillies next season.
