Governor Phil Murphy has extended the state’s public health emergency another 30 days. Murphy signed an executive order Sunday evening that extends the emergency so the state can properly respond to the coronavirus pandemic. Murphy did not announce any new restrictions, but some may come this week.
There were 42 new cases of coronavirus reported in Cape May County on Sunday. Lower Township now has 110 cases, Ocean City 88, and Middle Township, 81. There are eight non-resident active cases, seven of them in Cape May.
New Jersey added 3,998 new cases of coronavirus on Sunday, pushing the two day weekend total well past 8,000 cases. There were 15 new confirmed deaths on Sunday. Governor Phil Murphy says the numbers “speak for themselves”

Ocean City will still hold its town hall meeting on flooding on December 5th, but now it will be held virtually. The city also announced that its annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. ceremony will be held virtually as well.
Cape May County now has 508 resident cases of coronavirus. 43 new resident cases were reported on Saturday, along with the death of a 64 year old woman from Middle Township. There are six non-resident active cases in the County. Lower Township continues to be the hotspot with 117 cases.
New Jersey reported 4,679 new cases of coronavirus on Saturday. Health officials also confirmed 34 new deaths. This is the highest number of new cases reported in New Jersey in a single day during the pandemic.
Cape May County added 66 new cases of coronavirus on Friday, an all time one day record. 22 resident cases were reported in Lower Township, where the active cases now total 114. There are 39 long term car active cases, with most of them being in Ocean City.
Thanksgiving week football games can have up to 150 fans in attendance. Governor Phil Murphy announced a clarification on the capacity rules on Friday and said that coaches and players do not count towards that limit of 150 individuals at a game.
