New Jersey reported over 3,100 new coronavirus cases on Monday. Governor Phil Murphy has instructed anyone who attended a Thanksgiving event with members who are not immediate family to get a Covid-19 test. There are nearly 3,000 people hospitalized with the virus, and 26 new in-hospital deaths.
Indoor youth and adult sports are both prohibited in New Jersey from December 5th through January 2nd. Governor Phil Murphy made that announcement Monday in an attempt to cut down on the spread of coronavirus. Collegiate and professional sports are not impacted.

The Woodbine Elementary School has switched to all-remote learning. The school district made the announcement on its social media page over the weekend, and all students were required to log in and be ready to be taught virtually by 8am Monday.
Wildwood’s Glenwood Avenue School and Early Childhood Annex have both switched to 100 percent remote learning as of today. School Superintendent J. Kenyon Cummings notes in a letter to parents that both schools will be closed to in-person learning through December 10th. In-person learning has been suspended.
The Cape May City Elementary School resumed in-person learning today. In a letter posted on the school’s website, Superintendent Zachary Palombo noted that in-person learning will continue up until Cape May County moves from high risk to very high risk, or if current levels of safety are not achievable.

New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy says a complete state shutdown remains on the table, but he’s certainly hoping it will be avoided. Murphy appeared on Fox News Sunday and stated that a state shutdown would be a last resort. He does say the state faces huge challenges over the next 90 days.
